it's been a while....

I know, I know. It is the end of June and I haven't blogged since April. Well, I have reasons. The first reason is that I am overwhelmed just thinking about my next post. It will be about Olivia's first trip to Disney World - which was incredible by the way - and we took SOOO many pictures and they are all so cute and we did so much fun stuff that I want to write about that I just know it will take a lot of time so I have been putting it off. For way too long. And in the midst of putting that off we decided it was time to start trying for baby #2. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and have been sick for the majority of the last 13 weeks. So I haven't wanted to blog or do anything else but sleep and take care of Olivia. I feel like a lot has gone on since my last post. Disney World, Olivia's 2nd Birthday, Easter and the 2nd anniversary of Zach's accident are the things I can think of off the top of my head but I will have to go through pictures to really remember what has gone on. Not that I have taken many pictures lately :/ But I hate a post with no pictures at all so here are some not so great pictures that I just took of my precious girl cracking up and trying her best not to let me take her picture and then some of her and her "bubba" aka "big boy" aka "king boy" aka "big o bubba."

I almost caught her with a cute smile but she is too quick!

King + Olivia = best buds
P.S. - Several people have been on my case lately about me being behind on my blog but I gotta give a shout out to Cherie for jumping my case about it today. It worked! So Happy Birthday Cherie! Hope you had a wonderful day and this post is for you :) Hopefully I can work on my Disney World post tomorrow!

dirty girl

One day over at Grandmother's house Olivia got DIRTY. She sat down where the driveway meets the dirt and had a ball playing in the dirt and little rocks. At one point I looked over and she was scooping dirt up with her hands and throwing it into the air right over her head. Which is why she looked like she did when she was done playing.

Reminds me of someone else that liked to get dirty. This is Zach right around the same age:

snow days!

We loved all of the snow days in February! Johnnie even stayed home from work on a few of the days and hung out with us and we had fun family time.

valentine pics

At the end of January we drove out to Frisco to have some valentine pics taken. Thanks haleybphotography! She got some great shots of Olivia which is hard to do. Here are some of my faves.

Sweet Girl on a Sweet Day

Yes Olivia is super sassy but she is also super sweet. And SO funny! On this particular day she was such a sweetheart all day. Nana and PawPaw had come over the day before and had stayed the night. When we woke up we got ready and Nana went with Olivia and I to Frisco so Haley could take some cute Valentine pics of Olivia. Before we left Olivia posed with PawPaw for a sweet pic.
Olivia LOVES her PawPaw

When we got back from Frisco we ate lunch and then Olivia took a nap. When she woke up we went over to Grandmothers for a visit and I got some sweet pics of her there also.
She loves to play with Grandmother's cane. She calls it "grandmother's candy cane." LOL.

Grandmother also has an "Olivia sized" candy cane for the kiddos.

she loves the dandelions

and the old rickety swings

and the fake ducks and frog in the monkey grass

This is Grandmother and Olivia with Gloria. I think Grandmother said she got Gloria when she was 5 years old. She is a big heavy doll and Olivia loves lugging her around Grandmother's house, putting her down for naps, covering her with blankets, feeding her, talking to her, etc... Olivia will sometimes just randomly ask me where Gloria is and what she is doing. She is a special doll so I thought it was necessary to have a picture with the three of them together.

Again, being super sweet. I asked her to smile for a picture with Grandmother and she leaned over and pressed her head against Grandmother.

and back on herself

I just happened to walk in on this - Olivia sitting like such a big girl in the recliner watching tv while Johnnie was on the computer.

I have GOT to start writing down and blogging all of the funny things she says and does. The girl is hilarious. Cracks us up all day long. Her vocabulary is incredible. Right now she is swinging from the side of the office chair singing "a doo dong day, a doo dong day, a doo dong day" and laughing like crazy. I'm pretty sure she just made it up and thinks its the best song. Most of the songs she sings are from Yo Gabba Gabba. Her most recent fave is "pajama party time, jumpin around, pajama party time, jumpin around, dancin pajamas, dancin pajamas!" she sings as loud as she can and bounces all around the room dancing. She also still sings to all of her "friends" that sleep in her bed with her every night. I keep saying I'm going to video her monitor b/c we watch it and laugh every night. OH - her newest phrase is "I don't know" which is pretty funny. She also tells us "Good job!" a lot. And I always hear her telling King "King, you're my favorite, you're so cute!" But today she told Mox (my parents chocolate lab) "Good boy Mox, you're so smart." Right now she is trying to get Mox to eat his dog food so she is putting one piece at a time right in front of his mouth while he lays on the floor. It's working :) She just said "Good job Moxy! Is it yummy? Here, eat this little piece, here." Ok now she just dumped the entire bowl out on the floor! I looked over at her and said "Olivia what happened?!?" and she said "Nuffin!!!" So I had to LOL and then she said "I just want him to eat his food!" Funny girl.

Chocolate Cake Playdate

Our playgroup does a lot of themed playdates. I volunteered to host on National Chocolate Cake Day (bet you didn't know that existed) and the kids AND MOMS loved it :) Each mom made their favorite chocolate cake recipe so we had plenty of cake!

Whose kid is this?

Olivia's First Haircut!

Olivia got her first haircut on 1/26/2011. I loved that her hair had gotten so long but it was so uneven in the back and so it was pretty scraggly. I took her to Pigtails & Crewcuts in Southlake and she loved it! She wanted to sit in the yellow taxi and she drove the whole time and was such a big girl. It doesn't look that much different than it did before because I didn't want to lose much length but it does look healthier and more even. The lady that cut it said there is a lot of new hair growing in underneath so I'm hoping it will thicken up over the next few months so we can even it up again and get her a cute little haircut!
